Uzomechina G. Obiakpani

Uzomechina G. Obiakpani, widely known as “Big George,” is a Lagos-based entrepreneur, media professional and creative strategist with professional experience spanning banking, marketing communications, broadcasting, branding and facility management.

He is the Chairman/CEO of Geojello Concept, a company he has been actively involved in building since 2009. The company provides services in printing, graphic design, branding and facility management, helping individuals, businesses and organisations create distinctive and professional brand identities.

He began his professional career in the banking sector with Union Homes Savings & Loans Plc, where he worked from 2008 to 2013. He subsequently moved into marketing communications at Tall & Wide Company, where he worked from 2013 to 2018. His passion for communication and the creative industry later took him into broadcasting, serving as Station Manager of Sweet FM, Abeokuta, from 2017 to 2019.

A lifelong music enthusiast, he has a particular passion for jazz, while maintaining a broad appreciation for virtually all genres of music. He currently hosts “Just Jazz” on Lagos Traffic Radio 96.1 FM, where he shares his knowledge, perspectives and appreciation of the art form. His interests also extend to music and film criticism, as well as football.

A pioneer set of Boys Academy, Lagos (1980–1985/86), he is proudly an Eko Boy and has remained deeply connected to the values, friendships and traditions formed during his school years.

For over a decade, he has served as Secretary of the Board of Trustees of the Eko Boys To Men Association (EBTM), contributing to the growth, continuity and institutional development of the Association while helping to strengthen the enduring bonds among old schoolmates and lifelong friends.

His journey reflects a commitment to building meaningful relationships, supporting creative expression and preserving the values of friendship and community that have remained central to his life.
